Welcome to “Stuff Black People Dig”, the only website about stuff that Black People dig.
The intent of this blog is to examine particular nuances that makes Black Culture distinct from others and hopefully find was to make it better (or at least find humor in the stuff that can’t be fixed) .
We realize there are a number of similar Blogs out there at the moment (the title “Stuff Black People Like” was taken, twice), so we strive to bring you our very own unique and definitive outlook on that complex group of people known simply as “Black”.
And it goes without saying that this blog was directly inspired by Stuff White People Like and that Christian Lander should get full credit for starting this whole crazy trend.
I could appreciate the tongue in cheek humor of this blog if it is written by an American of African descent. Then I would be assured that someone was laughing with me rather than at me.
I was thinking similar thoughts. I guess we are left to utilize context, which has me kind of wondering, honestly. I came across a few things that were not very amusing.
(And, in the sake of honesty, I’m really sick of things that degrade Black people to be considered acceptable, just because they come out of the mouth of another Black person. If it is a degrading comment/concept, it really does not matter who said it. It is really all about context.)
I agree with this, at least the “If it is a degrading comment/concept, it really does not matter who said it. It is really all about context” but on the other hand, I make a lot of jokes in a condesending or pseudo-racist way to make fun of all the racism around me. im a Jewish girl with a black boyfriend, a mexican brother in law & nephews, and a South indian sister in law, but i do say a lot of stuff to mock the idiot thugs and rednecks here in South Carolina that if you didn’t know me but heard me say you would probably think I was racist. I however do try to keep that in mind when in mixed company.
woot, thankyou! I finally came to a site where the webmaster knows what they’re talking about. Do you know how many results are in Google when I search.. too many! It’s so annoying having to go from page after page after page, wasting my day away with thousands of people just copying eachother’s articles… bah. Anyway, thankyou very much for the info anyway, much appreciated.
This site is full of propaganda! Seems as if someone is perpetuating myths and ignorant thought from those of other races. Not a site for those who want an intellectual thought based on any true facts on black people.
Disregard previous reply/post. As my name states I love to read therefore kept reading and I have come to realize that this is more to poke fun at this ignorance others perpetuate, my husband laughs at me for my slow or lack there of humor.
OK, I loved the “#24. Discriminating Against Interracial Couples” because i am jewish and my boyfriend is black, he is ALWAYS telling me to stop straightening my hair, and that he likes my hair curly….. then I read this blog and it was HILLARIOUS to me. Thanks! (oh yeah, and other bunches of other black people do hate on us since I look like a white girl at first glance, but on the same token, his parents and sister love me so I can’t complain.)
Suggested topics:

*the perpetual neighborhood bike swap
*flip flops
*yelling out of moving cars

If this is not written by a black guy it’s offensive as hell
